Mathematics The Department of Mathematics and statistics was established in the year 1965. B. Sc Degree course in Mathematics was started in 1980. The motto of the department is ‘Math for a path’.

The department has degree course with Statistics and Physics as subsidiaries.  The department also offers complementary courses for students of Chemistry and Geology stream. An open course is offered for students of all streams. Faculty members of the department are actively engaged in research and the department conducts national and international seminars, workshops etc.

• Acquires a comprehensive knowledge and sound understanding of fundamentals of Mathematics.
• Develops the skill to think critically on abstract concepts of Mathematics
• Enhances Logical reasoning skills, arithmetic skills, aptitude skills communication skills, self confidence for better employability.

 FOUNDATION OF MATHEMATICS Learn fundamental ideas of sets, functions, equations and basic logic ANALYTIC GEOMETRY, TRIGONOMETRY AND DIFFERENTIAL CALCULUS Understand basics of Analytic Geometry, trigonometry and successive differentiation CALCULUS Aquire sound knowledge of differentiation, integration and their applications VECTOR CALCULUS, THEORY OF NUMBERS AND LAPLACE TRANSFORM Learn vector differentiation and integration, basic properties of congruence and related theorems,  fundamentals of Laplace transform MATHEMATICAL ANALYSIS Learn basic properties of real  numbers and real sequences DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS Understand basic theory of ordinary and partial differential equations and their solutions ABSTRACT ALGEBRA Learn fundamentals of abstract algebraic structures FUZZY MATHEMATICS Learn about formal methods to represent “vague” and “less” mathematical knowledge.
