The objective of this cell is to strictly prohibited ragging and unethical practices among students.


   In exercise of the power conferred by clause (g) of Sub- Section (1)  of the Section 26 of the University Grants Commission herby defines "Ragging" as - `Any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other student, indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psycological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student or asking the students to do any act perform which such student will not in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or geenrating a sense of shame or embarrassment so an to adversely afeect physique or phyche of a fresher or ajunior student that prevents,dirupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or a fresher or any act that affects the mental health ans self-confidence of a fresher or any other student `.

                                    Punishment at the Institution Level

Depending upon the nature and gravity of the offerce as established by the Anti-Ragging Committee of the institution, the possible punishments for those found guilty of ragging at the institution level shall be one or any combination of the following

1. Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.

2. Withholding/withdrawing scholarship/fellowship and other benefits.

3. Debbaring from appearing in any test/examinationor other evaluation process.

4. Withholding results

5. Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, natioanl or internatioanl meet, tournament,            youth festival, etc.

6. Suspension/expulsion from the hostel

7. Cancellation of admission

8. Rustication from the institution for period ranging from 1 to 4 semesters.

9. Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution for a              specified period.

10. Fine ragging between Rupees 25,000/- and Rupees 1 Lakh.
11. Collective punishment: When the person committing or abetting the crime of ragging are not identified,            the institution shall resort to collective punishment.
